Dear Friends, Families, and Supporters,

We are thrilled to share some exciting news! Makom and The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington are entering into a joint venture that creates a central hub for the Jewish community.

Over the last several years, Makom has grown dramatically. As a result, we have outgrown our current Rockville office. Part of our growth has come in the form of adding our Clinical Services, which to this point has not had clinical space in which to do its work. And, we anticipate continued growth in response to ever-increasing demand for Makom services and supports.

Within the last two weeks, both the Makom and Federation Boards of Directors have approved a partnership through which Makom and the Federation will co-own and occupy the Federation building on Executive Boulevard in Rockville. Makom will relocate to that building In the coming months, joining the Federation and other current tenants in a dynamic space that will enhance accessibility and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This expanded partnership allows both organizations to deepen their communal impact and better meet the evolving needs of our community.

With this move, our Clinical Services Department will establish an ambulatory care site to accommodate even more individuals with IDD across the community, beyond the people currently receiving Makom supports.

There are more details to navigate in the coming weeks and months. Stay tuned for updates as we move into the space. We look forward to building a stronger, more connected community together!

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want to learn more about this exciting collaboration!
